Manifesto

The Problem

As a VC, you receive tons of emails every day. They want you in on their Uberized e-commerce platform in the Blockchain. Of course, that's interesting. But not for you. You don't invest in this. It's just not your scope. This is spam to you.

At the same time, new projects are being born. You probably want to discover the next Elon Musk before anybody else, right? But that's happening outside of your deal flow, and you won't hear about it until it's too late.

What you need to do is put your deal flow on steroids.

The Solution

We've built OpenVC, a new app that lets you build a secondary deal flow on top of your proprietary deal flow. OpenVC runs under the Creative Commons license, which means your data cannot be used for commercial purposes. 

Think of us as Wikipedia for Venture Capital.

Get your beta access, then update your fund info. No need to install new software, no need to create an account. Just fill the form and you're all set.

OpenVC is an open resource (think Wikipedia) where VCs can claim their investment thesis.

By doing so, VCs receive less spam from clueless founders. They also get ultra-qualified opportunities from time to time. 

In return, it makes life easier for founders (yes, it matters).


"Verified data" is reliable. It has been provided by the funds or added by us. 

The rest of the data is crowdsourced so less reliable. Use your discretion.

  •  Data. The best way to support OpenVC is by adding accurate data and fixing errors. 
  • Exposure. Tweet about OpenVC, blog about it. Most importantly, tell your VC friends about it.
  • Feedback. Use the chatbox to let us know about bugs and feature ideas. We always reply.
