Who we are

We are builders ourselves with 0 to Series B startup experience spanning North America and Europe. Badhouse is also a network of engaged angel investors keen to give back and help when the founder asks are relevant. We are strong believers in the test & learn ethos, as well as advocates for strong data protection and jurisdictional sovereignty.

Funding Requirements

We invest in very early-stage software (SaaS, AI, web3, infosec) startups solving problems that fall under two themes: smarter communities and/or smarter data systems. We have a strong Western Canada (West of Toronto) selection bias given the acute Pre-Seed funding/investment gap in this region compared to others.

Minimal criteria for consideration for investment:
1. There is a team or at least one co-founder
2. The company is past the idea stage
3. There is some evidence traction, whether it’s revenue or usage
4. Is below $1M in annual revenue (revenue can be $0)

Value add

We write first cheques and, as former startup operators, we're glad to get our hands dirty with founders, investing with our time and sweat as well.
