Who we are

We are both a VC Fund and a Community, holistically supporting Black founders. We fuse technology, culture, empathy and innovation to foster a more diverse & inclusive entrepreneurial landscape. We currently have a UK remit, fundraising for £10 million in our first fund.

Funding Requirements

We invest tech or tech-enabled businesses where one of the founders or executive member identifies as a black person(s).

Our unique positioning and proximity means that we are able to provide the necessary levels of nuanced understanding and support for the founders within our portfolio, thus encouraging their success and helping to address any challenges they may face. With a deep cultural affinity and a commitment to diversity, we stand as the sole entity actively solving for the exclusion of Black founders in the UK through venture capital funding. We bring credibility and validity through our stellar network, strong LP and advisorsory composition. Through both our fund and community, we possess the capability to tap into the wider ecosystem and curate impactful moments for our portfolio companies, at home and abroad. Our global ambition is underscored by the commitment of our anchor investor, M&G, who have pledged support for a successor fund, demonstrating our potential for scalability. With this fund we aim to address the national exclusion of black founders in the venture ecosystem, with 0.24% of venture capital going to black founders. This issue persists globally, with under 1% of venture capital funding having been allocated to black founders.
